Playing sports is a big part of childhood for a lot of people. There is so much to learn and experience when you’re part of a team! Some of my best childhood memories are from when I played softball and basketball as a kid. Looking back, it was a great time of learning social skills, hard work, and teamwork! And the same is true for your kids. There is so much they can learn when they are contributing to a team. Whether your children play sports or not, they are a part of a team in some capacity. Maybe they’re in a choir, a dance troupe, part of a cast in a play, a club at school, a boy scout or girl scout, etc. Wearing a uniform to go play a sport isn’t the only way that kids are a part of teams. Teamwork is a part of everyday life and it’s never too early to start learning what it means to be a good teammate. There are 2 parts to Along For The Ride episodes. In our interactive game segment (where the goal is to always have fun!), we’re playing an engaging game where everyone will race against the clock to think of as many words as you can for a particular letter or category. And then in the 2nd part of the episode, we are having a conversation about what it means to be a good teammate. This episode will ignite the competitive spirit and reinforce the good character that we want to see in our kids. Listen with your children, play along, and let the conversations flow.
