Shawn Wilson was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. Oldest of 7 siblings and a military brat, he obtained an Associate’s Degree in Culinary arts and a Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Beverage management from Johnson and Wales University in Miami, Fl. Working in notable restaurants, he has catered for celebrities such as Jay-Z, Beyonce, Birdman, Drake, Russell Simmons, Dwayne Wade and many more. Shawn’s first small business was a party promotion company on South Beach. He was responsible for hosting local guests, tourists and high-end celebrities to prestigious clubs, dinner parties, lounges and hotels seven days a week. He also worked with quick flip investors creating celebrity exclusive driven parties. After life came crashing down on him, from a bad car accident, breakup, and needing to take care of family, Shawn moved back to New York. Finding dead end jobs, Shawn initially needed to make quick money and not be constrained by a regular job and that’s when he thought of making Coquito.  Shawn Wilson is now the Founder of the start-up business Cocovida Coquito.  Cocovida Coquito sells and distributes Coquito throughout the Greater area of New York, Westchester, Long Island, New Jersey and Connecticut. This year alone, Cocovida Coquito was a sponsor of the Big Bronx Festival, has done various pop up shops, was featured on the D’essence show on the television network BronxNet, a guest on Deadbeat Baby Daddy Podcast, hosted the first ever Bottomless Coquito Brunch and yearly Ultimate tasting party holiday season kick off. Within the next year, the goal is to continue marketing and branding the business in order to build the capital needed to acquire mass production and inventory while supplying Coquito to multiple outlets.
