Tracy Ann Lisa says . . .  I'm a Jamaican artist, I came here when I was eleven years old and spent some time in Brooklyn, the Bronx and went to school in Mount Vernon. I had to drop out early in order to work, so I didn't graduate high school, but I found a way to enter college and finish some schooling. My first EP titled Socially Inept EP 1 was fully released in 2017, but before that I released singles. I wrote all my songs on this EP. My songs come from a place where I want to empower not just people, but myself as a woman too. I always wanted to sing, but I didn't think I could have the guts to actually pull it off without a company behind me.  I quit my 7th grade talent show, I had a problem with stage fright so after that one quit then, I didn't think I could do it again. It finally broke though, I couldn't sit by and waste anymore time so I decided after a few unprofessionally produced and heavily accented songs, that I would do myself and my songs a favor and finally get them professionally produced because they were collecting dust in my books. I feel like they needed to be heard. I feel like I have come a long way, especially with training too, I sing in Patoise, or Patwa, so my vocals came a long way with training as well. As a singer, I feel I should always be training some of the times and not just performing and writing, so I do make time to visit my coach every now and then when I am not too busy. I feel very proud that as an independent artist I was able to achieve these things with independent support. I grew up on old school reggae, R&B, rap, and gospel. When I get the compliments at my shows or on social media how good I was up there and that people enjoyed my show, or that people find me to be a very skilled songwriter and performer, it makes it all worth it.
