He is the author of two books: Beaten Down, Worked Up: The Past, Present, and Future of American Labor and The Big Squeeze: Tough Times for the American Worker. JARED BERNSTEIN is Senior Fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. From 2009 - 2011 he was the Chief Economic Adviser to Vice President Joe Biden. In that role, he helped develop a plan to recover from the Global Financial Crisis.
