Ep62: Kaille, Tilly & Percy - Obstetrician / Hospital Birth, Antenatal Anxiety, Meconium in Waters, Midwife / Home Birth

Kiwi Birth Tales - Un pódcast de Jordyn Kayes

In episode 62 of Kiwi Birth Tales I speak with Kaille who shares her two birth stories. Her first was with daughter Tilly, Kaille discusses her Antenatal Anxiety, switching from a Midwifery Team to private Obstetrician, Braxton Hicks, Meconium in her waters and a fast labour ending with birth in Hospital where Tilly struggled to breathe for a few minutes due to the meconium but was fine not long afterwards. Kaille takes us through her breastfeeding journey where she was told she has flat nipples and fed with a shield for 9 weeks, the weaning Tilly off. Tilly lost 11% of her birth weight in the first week and Kaille explains what they were doing to ensure she was gaining weight after that. Kaille then takes us through her second pregnancy in which she didn't have any anxiety, and opted for a Homebirth. Kaille felt an overwhelming sense of control during this birth and describes her experience at home with her family and midwife team. Thanks so much for joining me on the podcast Kaille!!
