It was a real pleasure reading this story and improvising it into 3rd person. Empathetic is a big word! Teaching kids to be empathetic and understanding empathy can be a challenge. Help the kids in your life understand empathy and build positive relationships. Being empathetic is an important skill to balance. If someone is overly empathetic, people and situations can take advantage and deplete their energy leaving them feeling exhausted. It is important for kids to understand that when showing empathy it is also so important to set boundaries and ensure they are balanced and healthy first so they can truly help others. From the AuthorWe are all human. We all have our own stories of struggle and empowerment. Having empathy is not about completely understanding what another has been through but having the ability to step back and support each other in our journey through life. Empathy is an important skill that is not clearly taught in schools. As a teacher I notice students who lack empathy in many situations. They need to be clearly taught how to take a breath and support their fellow classmates in a kind, caring and compassionate way. My hope for this book is that it helps children build empathy and self-empowerment.
