Panthers prevail with a shutout win at home. Barkov Named Finnish Team Captain!

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to recap the Panthers' 3-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings from Sunrise on Star Wars night. It was a dominant effort by the Panthers who set the tone with 20 shots in the first period, and getting clear lanes to the net as LA had a hard time preventing them from getting to the blue paint. The second line was buzzing on the evening where Mackie Samoskevich, Sam Bennett, and Matthew Tkachuk combined for 16 shots, resulting in two goals. Neither team committed a penalty in the second period nor got on the score sheet, so it was another Panthers 1-0 lead heading into the third period against the Kings. The Cats converted five seconds into a 5-on-3 (only having 9 seconds of it), which allowed them to still control play the rest of the way, and play shutdown hockey. Barkov scored his first goal of 2025 on the 2-man advantage (first since 12/30 against NYR). Sergei Bobrovsky got his first career shutout against the Kings, and the Cats as of late have been defensively sound despite the record not necessarily showing it.
