I want you to think about the process of creating a new habit. If you've ever set a New Year's resolution and lost track of it after a month, you're familiar with this. Change isn't that hard to initiate, it's maintaining the change that's tricky.It's tricky because we have a lot of practice with our old habits, our old ways of thinking, our old ways of reacting. When we allow ourselves to settle into autopilot mode, those are the grooves we fall into. They are what we know, and what we know feels comfortable and safe, even when it's not actually in our own best interest.And on top of the fact that we have a lot of practice doing things the way we've always done them, our brains tend to work against us when it comes to making changes.
