The 15th BRICS Summit 2023 is underway and leaders representing almost half of the world's population made their way to South Africa's Johannesburg at the summit. The summit is seen as a gathering of emerging economies – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa - who are attempting to strengthen their muscle in both the global economy and politics.
