In the UK the advice given when gestational diabetes is diagnosed is to follow the EatWell plate, which promotes a balanced diet, but is this the most helpful advice? Leslee busts some myths about diet and gestational diabetes, the foods you should eat, and what to pair with what to avoid spiking blood sugar levels. Leslee Flannery is a Registered Dietitian, specializing in Gestational Diabetes. She grew up and currently resides in Ohio with her husband and 2 boys. Leslee has been working with pregnant mamas since she became a dietitian in 2013! She founded her business Mama Knows Nutrition in 2020 where she works with Gestational Diabetic mamas on lowering blood sugar during pregnancy. Leslee runs a successful Gestational Diabetes nutrition coaching program, The Better Blood Sugar Method that has helped over 200 (and counting) women deliver healthy babies!
