Today’s readings from Genesis 10–12 and Matthew 4 center on one challenging but straightforward theme: Saying YES to God!In Genesis 12, God calls Abram to leave everything familiar behind, without a map, timeline, or detailed explanation. Abram’s response is not dramatic or loud; it is faithful. He says yes by taking the next step, trusting God before the destination is clear. His obedience reminds us that faith is often lived out through steady movement rather than perfect certainty. In Matthew 4, Jesus models what it looks like to keep saying yes to God in the face of temptation. Anchored in Scripture and fully submitted to the Father’s will, Jesus resists the enemy and chooses obedience again and again. His example shows us that saying yes to God also means saying no to anything that pulls us away from His purposes.Together, these passages invite us to reflect on where God may be asking for our yes today. Not a perfect yes. Not a fearless yes. Just a faithful one.As we continue our Bible in a Year journey, we are reminded that consistency, obedience, and trust shape our faith over time, one step at a time.
