Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows!
This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track!
Check out today's questions:
Nayeli: Hello Dr,I am 29 years old and have lived on topical steroids for eczema. In the last 4 years I've had sudden various health issues, gut issues, H. Pylori, severe urticaria, severe allergies to foods, sever spread of eczema, skin rashes on my entire body, and around the eyes. Severe swelling around my eye glands and nodes around my neck. Many rounds of antibiotics for about 4 years. After some research, I figured it might be the long term use of topical steroids. Are you familiar with topical steroid withdrawal? Do you work with patients with going through this? I am 4 weeks without steroids and my skin is flaring really bad. I would really like to start healing my body from the inside out. I don't know what else to do or who to go to for help. Thank you for your time!
Ana: I was wondering if you could give us your opinion on the potential side effects of abortion considering both medical and surgical ways. I found out that I’m pregnant and even though I’d hate to undergo such drastic procedure I really don’t have another option at the moment. Is medical better than surgical? I’m in the middle of the CBO protocol (due to yeast overgrowth) and I’d hate for all of the work that I’ve done so far in healing my gut to go to waste... I really don’t know what to do. Please help.
Dana: I have read the Rain Barrel Effect and my husband and I have both done the 7 day detox earlier this year. My husband was recently diagnosed with Esophageal cancer. He is currently doing the standard chemo/radiation treatments. My question is would there be any benefit to him doing any of the functional lab test or would he need to wait until he is finished with the cancer treatments.
Molly: Hi, I'm beginning the sensitive gut protocol in a couple of days, along with the supplements. A couple of quick questions: Is popcorn allowed? I use organic corn in coconut oil, typically. And what about red wine occasionally? I've had the organic acids test already and the hair test. I was told on my coaching call that I don't have yeast - but that this protocol would still optimize health. Great podcast. Super helpful. Thanks!
Sophie: Hi there, My name is Sophie, I’ve had a rash that has appeared every now and then on my face, usually around the outer crease of my eyes, and cheeks. I initially thought it may be related to Candida as I was constantly getting thrush. So I did the Cabral Candida protocol. It was fantastic, it’s been over a year and a half and I haven’t had thrush since. But the rash keeps coming back.I tried adrenal soothe and no results there. I noticed that it flared up when I was “warmer” and drank coffee or consumed alcohol, usually wine. I see myself as more of a pita dosha and when I over heat the rash flares. However, I quit coffee and the rash kept coming back. I am thinking it could either be a parasite reaction or something related to stress and my adrenals. We are planning to get pregnant this year and I want to clean up as much as possible. But I am also conscious of my finances. When I look at the test kits, I am overwhelmed by which one to choose. I know I am not estrogen dominant, but I haven’t done cortisol and adrenal tests. What lab testing would you recommend? As I can see there are two hormonal testing labs? I don’t really understand the difference. Can you please advise the best course of action for me!? Much love, Sophie
Amanda: My 18yo daughter’s first two days of her period have become so unbearable she wants to get on the pill. I know it’s not natural and not a great choice in the short term (I’m afraid it will exacerbate her anxiety and depression) as well as have long term effects. She’s active and healthy, eats pretty well for a teen, doesn’t drink coffee or eat a lot of sugar. Over the last 3 months her cramps have gotten worse and she feels nauseated, has even thrown up a few times. I’d love to hear what you recommend. Thank you in advance!!
Shima: Hey there, just wondering about your CBO protocol. It's 90 days, I'm wondering about the diet. Is it 90 days with absolutely no coffee or alcohol?( just trying to plan when I'll be most able to stick to the diet) is there a diet protocol that even comes with it? Thanks a lot
Jade: Hi Stephen, I have recently come across your podcasts on Ayurveda and determining your Dosha type. Do you offer assistance in determining individual dosha types as I’d love some help determining mine. Thanks so much, Jade
LAL: Hi, dr. Cabral :) Let me start by saying how thankful I am to have found your podcasts and I am also very grateful that people like you exist, who dedicate their lives to helping others.. You are an amazing soul and I wish you and your loved ones all the best, just as you wish that to everyone in the world and help us get there.. thank you so much! I hope to be where you are now in life at some point because my greatest wish is to help others.. but to get there I need to heal first, which brings me to my question(s) (this is going to be a long one, so brace yourself ;) )I’ve been listening to your podcasts religiously for the past two months going back to October’s podcasts already & I just wanna keep going, there’s so much information there.. I want to start listening from the beginning but I'm having trouble finding the first podcasts.. I tried different keywords in the search button but somehow it shows so many that I cannot scroll to no. 1.. Could you give me any pointers in how to use the search button to get to podcasts 1, 2 3, etc.? ..continued in the next question
LAL: Hi, dr. Cabral, here's my question regarding healing..I’m 32 years old and I’ve been diagnosed with fibromyalgia only last year after fighting debilitating symptoms & pain since I can remember.. in the last few years there were more and more of them and the old ones were just getting worse.. found Medical Medium last year and started drinking celery juice on an empty stomach every day which has helped me with a lot of symptoms (cannot be just the placebo effect).. then in July I incorporated other MM info which was basically going healthy vegan (no vegan processed food), no no-foods on his no-food list, no overt fats, etc.I’ve noticed such a change in my health that I just kept going, stricter and stricter and feeling better and better.. but haven’t been able to fix my overeating problem which I’ve had for a long time.. so now I feel this is really slowing my healing process and I have no idea how to fix it.. is it also because of all the restriction?
LAL: Dear dr. Cabral, I have so many questions, even after listening to approximately 500 of your podcasts.. I'm currently unemployed due to my fibromyalgia so I cannot afford any tests.. all of my money that I try to save goes for supplements.. could you recommend any for my condition? I currently take a daily probiotic from Viridian, also their B complex, Zinc, D3, Ester C, L-lysine and Magnesium.. anything else that could help me heal? Could you please check out their brand & see if their ingredients are good and the dosages as well? What else do you recommend for fibro?I also cannot afford to buy organic, so I soak everything in sodium bicarbonate and then wash it under tap water.. is that the best option?I already eat a healthy vegan diet, basically only fruits and veggies, 1litre lemon-honey-ginger water in the morning, then 1litre celery juice, then half a melon, then 1/2litre of green veggie juice, then a huge 1,5litresmoothie (berries, banana, green juice pulp, spirulina, ashwagandha, cloves, cinnamon, ginger), an adrenal snack of 2 apples, a few celery sticks &dates, dinner is usually a huge salad containing at least 30 different ingredients (counting the herbs&spices).. tried to stay away from fat mostly and not sure if I get enough protein by eating this way..TY
LAL: Hi, dr. Cabral :) I have some more questions.. Following Medical Medium protocols I avoided overt fats, basically, I didn't eat anything with fats for days straight.. even 14 days.. only fruits and veggies.. is that detrimental for my health? I have fibromyalgia and MM says that you can detoxify the liver by not adding any fats for a while so it can clean out toxins and helps fighting viruses like EBV which supposedly causes fibromyalgia.. what is your opinion on all that? Now I started adding fats in the evening (is that bad?) because D3 vitamin and curcumin don't absorb well without fat.. so, olives and seeds and nuts, but I read so much about it having to be soaked and sprouted (seeds and nuts) or roasted.. which is best and why? Is it ok if I soak walnuts for example and then roast them for 10min? Also, I'm sure I eat too many nuts per day now, I have walnuts, almonds, cashews, pistachios, brazil nuts and hazelnuts.. how much is too much? Are they all healthy and have different vitamins and minerals?Thank you so much and happy healing to everyone!
