“At first when I began writing these books, people told me that they didn’t think there was an audience for them. They thought it was a kind of niche subject, nobody was really that interested in it. And then gradually it became clear that there’s a surprisingly big audience of people that really have a craving for Classical wisdom and are interested in history, in the relationship between history and self-improvement and philosophy and psychotherapy.” Donald Robertson is a writer, cognitive-behavioural psychotherapist, and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH). He is known as an expert on the relationship between modern psychotherapy (CBT) and classical Greek and Roman philosophy, specifically Stoicism. He has been doing public speaking for over two decades and has spoken on over a hundred podcasts, webinars, and conferences. He has also published six books on philosophy and psychotherapy that have been translated into several languages. Titles include Stoicism and the Art of Happiness and the bestselling How to Think Like a Roman Emperor. His graphic novel, Verissimus: The Stoic Philosophy of Marcus Aurelius, is due for publication around Autumn 2021. · donaldrobertson.name Plato’s Academy: donaldrobertson.name/2021/02/10/rebuilding-platos-academy/
