He wipes his eyes. Looking east, he notices a car that’s appeared from behind the row of cornstalks. Roger watches intently as the car pulls onto the dirt road that heads toward the highway.The car gets closer. It’s a 1940 Chevrolet Master De Luxe. A man gets out of the car, and then the woman driving the car backs up the dirt road. She makes a U-Turn and heads back down the dirt road. The man on the other side of the highway puts his hands in his pockets and looks south. Then, he looks at Roger. Roger and the man regard each other from opposite sides of the highway. They say nothing.
