Ask The Dust is a Series that in different ways approaches themes like nostalgia, artistic intensions, nature, politics, domestic and spiritual matters mostly in form of music and other recorded material. Ask the Dust presents a platform of contemplation and reflection, that is open-ended and yet steadily focused on the Abject as a main point of departure. The series is initiated and produced by Claus Haxholm. – Dust is the worlds form of History writing. But the also dust from fallen Public monuments as when the artist Gustav Courbet demanded, and succeeded in tearing down the Vendome Column,( as was celebrated a mythology of war and conquest.) There have been many such acts before in history,and even to this day it happens via many different Movements and Agendas. The dust can tell many stories of human life. Of what once was, but a lot what is. Dust can symbolize and carry many different meanings and proposals as well, and one of the main lenses we listen thru is dust as an abject, and to cite very crudely from Julia kristeva – “above all the abject is ambiguty”. This program is not so much “Either/or” but “With/And”
