30: The Top 16 Money Making Photography Niches

When I was in photography school my teacher told me, “The only way you’re ever going to comfortably make money is if you become a wedding photographer.” This was something I heard constantly when I was learning photography—that wedding photographers were the only ones who didn’t struggle—and that my pipe dream of becoming a fashion photographer was just that… a dream… not realistic. I just remember thinking… HOW is that possible?  There are TONS of different niches ... wedding photography can’t be the ONLY one that’s profitable, right? The good news is, I was right. Over the years, I’ve discovered that there are SO MANY major money making photography niches! The trick is finding the right one that speaks to you, lights you up, and helps you share your story.
