Bad Blood: The Young Female Billionaire Who Conned America
The Quicky - Un pódcast de Mamamia Podcasts

This week, one of America's most hotly anticipated fraud trials began when the woman once known as the youngest, self-made female billionaire, Elizabeth Holmes entered a courtroom to face the jury who will decide if she spends the next 20 years in jail. At just 19 she founded bio-tech company Theranos in Silicon Valley, where she was frequently referred to as 'the next Steve Jobs' for her plan to revolutionise healthcare with a new blood testing technology she claimed to have invented. The only problem was, it didn't work. The Quicky speaks to an expert in human behaviour to find out how such a young woman was able to convince some of America's most highly respected businesspeople to invest hundreds of millions of dollars, and how it all came crashing down.
