Most Aussies Know Harmony Day But Almost None Know Its Dark Past

Right now, it's Harmony Week here in Australia, and March 21 marks Harmony Day, a day where businesses, schools and organisations are told to wear orange in celebration of Australia's recognition of diversity and multiculturalism.  The federal government's website labels it as a day which celebrates "our diversity, and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds".  But March 21 is not recognised as 'Harmony Day' anywhere else in the world.
