Last year when the popularity of weight loss drugs surged, it lead to a worldwide shortage, that is still going on today. In a bid to assist with those shortages, some compounding pharmacists mass-produced their own versions of popular weight-loss drugs. Earlier this week the TGA, which regulates medicines in Australia, proposed a change which would effectively ban compounded injectable weight loss drugs from being made or sold in Australia, due to concerns the drugs may be unsafe or ineffective.
