Closing Ranks w/ Leroy Logan MBE

The Sod's Law Podcast - Un pódcast de GoldBean Studios

This week my guest is one of the UK’s most highly decorated and well known police officers, Leroy Logan MBE. I think it’s fair to say that Leroy’s no average Joe - he was awarded an MBE by the Queen in 2001 for his role in developing anti-racist policies for the police and after working on some of the UK’s most high profile race-related cases. And after retiring as a Superintendent in 2013 after 30 years of service in The Met, his fire is still burning strong. He’s a frequent commentator on the current state of the relationship between the police and the public in London, acting as an adviser to politicians AND has got a book coming out next month - Closing Ranks: My Life as a Cop (Amazon.co.uk) - that describes his incredible career and acts as a history lesson in race-relations in modern day Britain. It’s available for pre-order NOW on Amazon and will be released in all good book retailers on the 17th of September! This Autumn, Oscar winning movie director Steve McQueen is releasing Small Axe, a BBC anthology drama highlighting the experience of Black people in Britain, with one of the series focussing on Leroy’s life and career, with Star Wars actor John Boyega playing Leroy Logan. leroylogan.com -- If you'd like to support Sod's Law you can become a Sod's Law patron at patreon.com/sodspod from as little as £1 /$1 a month - there are different tiers including ad-free episodes, giveaways and more!
