His quiet nature meant that music could be an outlet – a way to get out all the things he couldn’t otherwise say. While he was raised on George Strait, Merle Haggard, and his grandmother’s beloved Tejano music, Devin puts something a little grittier out into the world from his own fingertips. He combines influences from the music of his childhood with elements of rock and alternative to create a sound that is loyal to classic country but can entertain a rock n’ roll crowd easily. His songs conjure vivid images, making audiences feel every emotion Devin has poured into each line. Whether it be the angsty and angry Wasted Time, or the heartbreakingly haunting ballad, Whiskey, he brings the listener on a journey rather than simply telling them a story. Backed by a five-piece band, Devin creates music for people who love hard and hurt deeply. He sees himself and his music as an outlet for the brokenhearted.
