THIS EPISODE WAS ORGINALLY RELEASE ON JULY 11TH, 2020. The #1 way you can support our podcast is by visiting our Patreon page! Welcome to Episode #85 of The Troubadour Podcast.  Today we take a little departure from the strictly Red Dirt and Texas Country vein and interview a person that had a pretty big impact on my songwriting. In the 90’s I was watching The Nashville Network on TV and saw a guy on a stool with just a guitar and he sang a song that rocked my emotions.  The song was called “When the Bartender Cries.”  It was at that very moment I wanted to try to move people like I had just been through writing songs.  The singer and songwriter was named Michael Peterson and he went on to have a pretty great career.  Most of you probably know him from his hit song “Drink, Swear, Steal and Lie.” When I started this podcast I started trying to track down those who’d impacted my career as a songwriting and get them on the show.  Low and behold, through the platform of Facebook I was able to connect with Michael and he graciously agreed to come on the show. As you’ll hear in the interview, Michaels had a pretty interesting life even outside of his musical career. He’s now even hosting his own radio show and it was fun to hear him asking our own Carly Evan’s for advice on radio and DJing.  A link to Michael’s radio show will be in the show notes for this episode. https://www.positivelisteningradio.com/michael-peterson.html All of Michael’s social media links, music and merch can be explored by going to his website at www.michaelpetersononline.com So here we go with Episode #85 of The Troubadour with a wonderful singer/songwriter and human being, Michael Peterson.
