Kate and Mandy talk to Richard Colman AM - World and Paralympic wheelchair racing champion, two times gold medallist and ‘Team Vic’ coach. Richard was born with spina bifida and has been using a wheelchair his whole life. Richard is proud to have a disability as it’s opened up huge opportunities for him to travel the world doing what he loves - being a full-time athlete. Richard talks about his pathway to the Paralympics through primary school athletics. He’s now a coach for School Sports Victoria ‘Team Vic’ where he has previously coached Mandy’s girls Milly and Molly. Richard also shares all about winning his Paralympic gold medals in the T53 classification, the .01 of a second wins and near misses across his career and all the friends and allies he’s made around the world along the way. Richard also runs his own coaching business, is a motivational speaker and a ‘glass half full’ type of guy who believes anything is possible if you truly believe it, and if you start taking some measurable action steps towards achieving your dreams. Get in touch with Richard if you want him on your team!
