RUSH RULES! This week 2GTR host John Kane and special guest co-host Boston Rock Radio DJ Legend and major Rush fan Mike Hsu engage in all things Rush. We discuss Mikes background in the radio business as it relates to his love for Rush and most significantly deep dive into the background of one rocks most legendary bass players Billy Sheehan…who decided to drop by the show! Sheehan is known for his work with Talas, Steve Vai, David Lee Roth, Mr. Big, Niacin, and The Winery Dogs. And his latest Sons of Apollo an progressive metal supergroup formed in 2017 and composed of drummer Mike Portnoy, bassist Billy Sheehan, keyboardist Derek Sherinian, vocalist Jeff Scott Soto, and guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal. Sheehan has won the "Best Rock Bass Player" readers' poll from Guitar Player magazine five times for his "lead bass" playing style. Sheehan's repertoire includes the use of chording, two-handed tapping, right-hand "three-finger picking" technique and controlled feedback. Rush fans might have caught him on the Presto and Roll the Bones tours with Mr. Big. What an incredible show!! Nothing but the best here on 2GTR! Thank you Mike, Billy! And thank you Rush fans far and wide... Be well friends, John Kane
