The Mississippi Hangings

Unresolved - Un pódcast de Unresolved Productions

In October of 1990, a man named David Scott Campbell was arrested in Philadelphia, Mississippi... the same city where, 30 years prior, three civil rights workers had been abducted and murdered by members of the KKK. On his first night in prison - which, coincidentally, was also his 21st birthday - Campbell took his own life. Two years later, in August of 1992, a young man from Jackson, MS met a same fate. Andre Jones, the eighteen-year-old son of a NAACP chapter president and a Nation of Islam minister, was arrested and transferred to a neighboring county. There, he also met his unfortunate end. These two young men were just endemic of a larger problem plaguing Mississippi jails and prisons over a six-year period, from 1987 to 1993. During that time span, an unusually-high number of inmates/prisoners ended up taking their own lives... and the cause is still unknown. Written, hosted, and produced by Micheal WhelanLearn more about the podcast at unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast and others, consider heading to patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron Music CreditsGraham Bole - "Nae Shaam"Gallery Six - "Hydroscope"ROZKOL - "Redrick's Lament"Ryan Little - "Summer Dreams"Kai Engel - "Soli"Rest You Sleeping Giant - "Themes From Frost"Pulse Emitter - "Moonlit Valley"Magna Ingress - "The Glow"Organoid - "Cassini"Krackatoa - "Long White Cloud"Ailsa Traves - "Unresolved"Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.
