Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons redefined the comic medium with their landmark graphic novel, Watchmen. The team challenged the ideology of what comics could be - through the lens of politics, our own humanity and a satire of the very medium which it’s presented. Watchmen is one of the only books in the medium to be studied in depth in colleges, appear as the only graphic novel on Time’s “100 Greatest Books of All Time List” & light up both the big and small screen alike. Watchmen has influenced multiple creators of comics in writing and artistry alike. One thing, perhaps, that gets overlooked within the mythos of the Watchmen are the team of heroes that proceeded Dr. Manhattan and gang. In 2012, DC attempted to give prequel comics through the Before Watchmen line. One of which was the Minutemen. In this seventh installment into our Watchmen series, we’re looking at Darwyn Cooke’s miniseries with the Fantom Zone podcast (http://bit.ly/guest321).
